This species is widespread and common in West, Southwest, and Central Europe. In the Iberian Peninsula it appears to be confined to the north, from Cantabria in the west to Cataluña in the east. Aside from the specimens listed above, Besuchet (unpublished) examined abundant material from numerous localities in France, Britain, and Central Europe.
