Thymus pulegioides L.
status

Cunila thymoides Linnaeus View in CoL , Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 31. 1762.

"Habitat Monspelii. D. Sauvages." RCN: 171.

Replaced synonym: Thymus pulegioides L. (1753) .

Lectotype (Ronniger in Heilpfl.-Schriftenr. 18: 37. 1944): Herb. Linn. No. 38.5 ( LINN) .

Current name: Thymus pulegioides L. View in CoL ( Lamiaceae ).

Note: This is a legitimate nomen novum since, in 1762, Linnaeus simultaneously transferred to Cunila both Melissa pulegioides L. (1753) (as C. pulegioides (L.) L. ) and Thymus pulegioides L. (1753) , only one of which could therefore retain its original epithet.
