III. Chelipoda trepida View in CoL -group

A rather heterogeneous group with elongated thorax, C 1 often shorter than the thorax and cell cup usually open or completely absent (when cup is closed, vein A 1 is faint). Chaetotaxy on F 1 is reduced to only 1 or 2 rows of setae which are not usually clearly differentiated into spines and denticles. Many of the species exhibit strong sexual dimorphisms making characterization difficult.
