TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., Oregon, Clatsop Co., mouth of Columbia River (= "shores of Columbia River”) .
DISTRIBUTION: Coast and Cascade Ranges and Sierra Nevada of S.W. British Columbia ( Canada) to S. California ( U.S.A.).
COMMENT: Formerly included mearnsi ; see Lindsay, 1981, J. Mammal., 62:673-682.
