Austroascogaster morganae n.sp., holotype,male. 46, habitus,lateral; 47,head,face; 48, fore wing; 49,head and mesosoma,dorsal; 50,head and mesosoma, lateral.Scales: 46 = 500 µm; 47-50 = 200 µm.

DIAGNOSIS — Metasoma long, very narrow and longer than mesosoma; antenna slender; wings hyaline; vein r emitted

near middle of pterostigma.

DESCRIPTION (Holotype) — MALE: body length 2.5 mm, length of fore wing 2.6 mm. Head. Antenna damaged, 19 flagellomeres remaining; length of first flagellomere equal to second; length of first and second flagellomeres 3.20x their width, respectively; ED/TD = 2.60; eyes glabrous; OOL:OD:POL = 4.00:3.00:3.00; frons densely punctate anteromedially, striate elsewhere with a median longitudinal carina; WF/HF = 1.38; length of malar space equal to length of base of mandible; clypeus, face, gena and vertex finely punctate; face densely setose near antenna; WC/HC = 2.00. Mesosoma. Median lobe of mesoscutum punctate; mid-posterior area of mesoscutum rugulose; notauli present but weakly developed anteriorly; scutellum shiny, finely punctate, weakly convex; propodeum smooth, with short longitudinal and cross carinae, anterior areola wide and smooth inside; mesopleuron shiny and smooth, strongly punctate near subalar depression; precoxal sulcus long, sinuous, punctate; HMS/LMS = 0.55. Legs. Hind coxa finely punctate laterally, smooth dorsally; length of hind tibia equal to hind tarsi; LPS/LHBT =0.43. Wings. LW/LB =1.03; fore wing with SR1/PT =1.35; LPT/WPT =2.85; r: 3-SR: SR1: r-m = 4.00:5.00:27.00:4.00; vein r starting to the middle of pterostigma. Metasoma. LMS/LMT = 0.80; in dorsal view elongate, weakly wider posteriorly than anteriorly, WMT/LMT = 0.42; metasoma weakly curved in lateral view; ventral keel indistinct to fine, straight apically in posterior view; metasoma weakly reticulate, longitudinally rugose on anterior four-fifths, its apical fifth finely punctate and shining. Color. Head, scapus (but the small infuscate patch), fore and mid coxa, mid leg (except tibia apically and telotarsus), hind coxa (except a small basodorsal patch), hind femur (except dorso-apically), hind tibia medially yellow; palps, spurs fore and mid trochanters, basal half of metasoma white; antenna, frons largely, a dorso-basal patch on hind coxa, apical 0.20 of hind femur, hind tibia basally and apically brownish; wings hyaline slightly infuscated below the pterostigma.

ETYMOLOGY — This species is named in honor of my niece, Morgane Braet.
