Biology. Label information indicates that it was found near decomposing matter, in the Páramo in the West Cordillera in Colombia. Nothing else is known about its habits or biology.

Etymology. Name in apposition. The species epithet refers to the Barí indigenous people, sometimes called Motilones, that inhabit the forest of the Catatumbo river, between Colombia and Venezuela.

Type material. Holotype male ( CEUA). COLOMBIA: Antioquia. San José de la montaña. El Congo /10– 15\set\2011/ 3000m./ L. Rios /VSR pez. Trampa 5/ Voucher DG 002.

The holotype is not in perfect condition because it was used to extract DNA. It was not macerated, but rather immersed in Proteinase K. The individual has 1 foreleg and 1 posterior leg (without tarsi). The voucher code is DG002.
