ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875b: 173 (key), 175 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MZUF: Box 35): Domomyza Rnd. / articulata Rndn. / 1870 / holotype / Domomyza articulata, K.A. Spencer det., 1986, ♀ / = Agr. luteitarsis, K.A. Spencer det., 1986, ♀.

CURRENT STATUS: nomen dubium View in CoL in Agromyzidae ( Papp 1984b: 341) View in CoL ; junior synonym of Agromyza luteitarsis (Rondani, 1875) ( Spencer & Martinez 1987: 260) View in CoL . The type species of the genus Domomyza ( Domomyza cincta ) belongs to Drosophilidae View in CoL , not Agromyzidae View in CoL (see note on this nominal species, p. 108).

REMARKS: Rondani (1875b: 175) described Domomyza articulata without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length. Spencer & Martinez (1987: 260) considered the single MZUF female as the holotype.
