ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 324.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Pedemontio [Piedmont ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: junior secondary homonym of Anthomyia carbonaria Meigen, 1826 ; senior (but invalid) synonym of Fannia rondanii ( Strobl, 1893) View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 54; Barták et al. 2016: 104).
REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 324) described Homalomyia carbonaria , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from L. Bellardi. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
