ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866d: 34 (key), 40 (description) [1867b: 118 (key), 124 (description)].

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hill ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box 27): Helomyza Fall. / flavitarsis Rndn. / 1462.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Suillia flavitarsis View in CoL ( Gorodkov 1984b: 36, Canzoneri et al. 1995: 21).

REMARKS: Rondani (1866d: 40) described Helomyza flavitarsis from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length: “ Semel marem … inveni [I found the male once]”, publishing the species first in a separate (1866d) and then in the journal version (1867b). One syntype was found in this study.
