ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866d: 42 (key), 43 (description) [1867b: 126 (key), 127 (description)].

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus ditionis parmensis … in agro Tridentino [ Parmese hills … Trento’s territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing right fore-leg), 1 ♀, syntype (missing left fore-leg) ( MZUF: Box 28): Leria Desv. / chetomera Rnd. / 1469 .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Acantholeria cineraria (Loew, 1862) ( Gorodkov 1984b: 24) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1866d: 43) described both sexes of Leria chetomera : “ lectus uterque sexus … in collibus agri parmensis . Marem quoque obtinui in agro Tridentino captum a Doct. De Bartolini [Both sexes collected on Parmese hills. I also obtained the male sex collected in Trento’s territory by Dr. De Bartolini]”. Rondani published the species first in a separate (1866b) and then in the journal version (1867b). Two syntypes were found in this study. An additional two MZUF specimens numbered “1469” are not included in the type series because their labels are yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and are in a lower row in the Box, for which reason we treat them to be subsequent additions.
