ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 228.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in alpibus Insubriae [Insubrian (= Lombardy, Italy) Alps]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MZUF: Box 20): Somomyia [sic!] Rnd. / flavifrons [sic!] Rnd. / 1087.
CURRENT STATUS: nomen dubium View in CoL in Lucilia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ( Schumann 1986: 28) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 228) described Somomya fulvifrons from a single female without giving any measurement of length: “ In specimine nostro … Foeminam tantum observavi [in our specimen … I observed the female only]”.
