REMARKS: name that Rondani (1866a: 213) proposed as a synonym of Lispe leucospyla Rondani, 1866 (as Lispa ) and not made available by use as a valid species before 1961. Bezzi & Stein (1907) did not include Lispe sexpunctata in the catalog of Palaearctic Diptera . Morge (1959b: 90) listed this nominal species among the Rondani’s types in the MZUB but, because a list or index of names cannot be used to determine validity, Pont (1986b: 188) and O’Hara et al. (2011: 214) considered the name as unavailable. The genus “ Lispa ” is an “incorrect subsequent spelling of Lispe Latreille, 1797 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 106).
