This family of acalyptrate flies contains 67 species ( Evenhuis & Pape 2020). Rondani (1856) described one Palaearctic species, considered as a junior synonym ( Krivosheina 1984, Gaimari & Mathis 2011), in his “ Stirps Agromyzina ”. The family Odiniidae was proposed by Hendel (1920). The type material is in the MZUF.
