TYPE LOCALITY: “ Mendoza ( San Cárlos ) [Mendoza (San Cárlos) ( Argentina)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Hirmoneura lurida ( Papavero 1968: 3) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1868b: 33) described Hyrmoneura lurida , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from P. Strobel. This nominal species was described under the generic name Hyrmoneura , which is an “unjustified emendation of Hirmoneura Meigen ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 100). We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
