ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 334.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ In Sardinia [Sardinia, Italy]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Helina ciliatocosta ( Zetterstedt, 1845) ( Pont 1986b: 139, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 13).
REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 334) described Caricea pardalina , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from L. Bellardi. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
