ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 317.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in luco Alpino [in alpine wood]”, he later ( Rondani 1877c: 37) specified “ in luco alpinum prope Gaumellum ( Biella ) [in alpine wood near Gaumellum (= Biella) (Piedmont, Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Hydrotaea glabricula (Fallén, 1825) View in CoL ( Pont 1986b: 78, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 10).

REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 317) described both sexes of Ophira minima , without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, under the generic name Ophira , which is an “unjustified emendation of Ophyra Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 131). We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
