ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 96 (key), 106 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing left hind-leg), 1 ♀, syntype (missing left fore-leg) ( MZUF: Box 23): Yetodesia Rnd. / bitincta Rnd. / 1196; 1 ♀, syntype ( MSNPV: Box 94): Yetodesia bitincta Rnd. , 611, ♀, Parma .

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Phaonia bitincta View in CoL ( Pont 1986b: 119, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 12).

REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 106) described both sexes of Yetodesia bitincta without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found three syntypes in this study.
