ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868c: 238 (key), 247 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Pedemontio [Piedmont ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MRSN): 7 66 / 835 / Sapromyza Fall. albifrons Bell., Torino [Turin (Piedmont)].
CURRENT STATUS: Papp (1984a) did not list it; junior primary homonym of Sapromyza albifrons Macquart, 1835 ( Evenhuis & Pape 2020).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 247) described Sapromyza albifrons , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from L. Bellardi, to whom he attributed the species name. We found one syntype in this study.
