TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 3 ♂♂, syntypes (two partially destroyed by the pin) ( MZUF: Box 22): Aspilia Rnd. / funeralis Rnd., Apenn. [= Apennines] / 1161.

REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 88) described Aspilia funeralis from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths: “ Raro lecta a Doct. Berteo et a me in Apennino parmensi, …, specimina mascula tantum [Rarely collected by Dr. Berteo and me in the Parma Apennines … only male specimens]”. We found three syntypes in this study.
