ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868d: 575.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Sicilia ad Nebrodes [Nebrodi mountains, Sicily ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box 4): Eumerus Mgn / nebrodesius Rnd. , Sicilia / 148 / Madonie.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Peck 1988: 159, Belcari et al. 1995a: 15).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868d: 575) described Eumerus nebrodesius from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from F. Minà Palumbo. We found one syntype in this study.
