REMARKS: a misspelling. Rondani (1856: 169) listed Stratiomys “ euphippium ”, rather than Stratiomys ephippium Fabricius, 1775 , as the type species for the genus Ephippium Latreille, 1809. Woodley (2001: 157) considered Rondani’s “ euphippium ” as an incorrect subsequent spelling.
