ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1863: 35.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Labrador [Labrador ( Canada)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Scathophaga estotilandica ( Aldrich 1905: 568) ; valid species, unplaced in Scathophagidae View in CoL (as “ Scathophaginae View in CoL ”) ( Vockeroth 1965: 842).

REMARKS: Rondani (1863: 35) described Scatina estotilandica from just the female sex, without giving any measurement of length, from material received from M. Spinola. Costa (1866: 34) listed a single MZUN specimen numbered “719”, which we did not locate in this study.
