ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1874d: 13 (key), 14 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype (covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 34): Saltella Desv. / nigerrima Rndn. , ♀, Parma / 1775.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Saltella sphondylii (Schrank, 1803) View in CoL (Zuska & Pont 1984: 158, Pont & Meier 2002: 28, 114).
REMARKS: Rondani (1874d: 14) described Saltella nigerrima from a single female: “ Faeminam unicam inveni [I found a single female]”.
