ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1850c: 170.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Venezuela ” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MRSN: Box 1754): Epalpus pallitarsis Rndn. , ♀, Venezuela / Museo di Zoologia della Università Torino , Italia .
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Guimarães 1971: 65, O’Hara et al. 2020: 832).
REMARKS: Rondani (1850c: 170) proposed Epalpus pallitarsis for a single female received from E. Truqui, which he considered different from Epalpus flavitarsis Macquart, 1846 , the name of which he erroneously attributed to Guérin-Méneville who never described a species with this name.
