ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 121 (key), 141 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Pedemontio [Piedmont ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (missing right fore-leg) ( MZUF: Box 13): Exorista Mgn / cincinna Rnd. / 644.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Tlephusa cincinna ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 190, Pape et al. 1995: 19, O’Hara et al. 2009: 84, Cerretti 2010: 190, O’Hara et al. 2020: 364).
REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 141) described Exorista cincinna from a single male: “ Marem unicum possiedo, in collectiuncula a Pedemontio mihi transmissa a Genèo, inventum [I have a single male found in a small collection from Piedmont sent to me by Genè]”. The MZUF contains an additional male (non-type) numbered “644” from “Stuttgart”, which is not the type locality .
