CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Exorista fasciata ( Fallén, 1820) ( Sabrosky & Arnaud 1965: 1054) , valid species, as Exorista (Exorista) segregata ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 123, Pape et al. 1995: 16, Cerretti 2010: 102; O’Hara et al. 2020: 395).

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 181) described both sexes of Chetogena segregata without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of length, from material he had collected and also received from A. Schembri and M. Spinola. We found seven syntypes in this study.
