This small family of acalyptrate flies contains 23, mainly Neotropical species ( Lonsdale 2014, Evenhuis & Pape 2020). Rondani (1850c) described one species, considered as valid ( Lonsdale 2013, 2014). The holotype is in the MRSN and has been examined by Lonsdale (2013).
