ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 212 (key), 214 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus ditionis Parmensis [Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing right hind-leg) ( MZUF: Box 13): Tachina Mgn / impotens Rnd., Appen. [= Apennines] / 676.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Exorista (Exorista) fasciata ( Fallén, 1820) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 121) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 214) described Tachina impotens without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens. We found two syntypes in this study.
