TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one covered with mold, partially eaten by dermestids, the other missing fore- and right mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 13): Tachina Mgn / nympharum Rnd. / 689; 1 ♀, syntype ( MZUF: Box 13): Tachina Mgn / glossatorum Rnd. , [illegible words] / 687; 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box D): Tachina nympharum R., 261, ♂, Parma / 393 261; 1 specimen, syntype (sex not determinable, covered with mold, abdomen partially eaten by dermestids, missing right fore-, both mid- and hind-legs) ( MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Tachina nympharum R. 79 ♀ Parma / Coll. CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Exorista (Adenia) nympharum ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 126, Pape et al. 1995: 17, Cerretti 2010: 101, O’Hara et al. 2020, 393).

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 202) described Tachina nympharum from five males and one female: “ mares quinque et unicam foeminam … legi [I collected five males and one female]”. We found six syntypes in this study.
