ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:1865c: 226.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ In Agro Panormitano [Palermo’s territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype ( MZUF: Box 18): Zeuxia Mgn / palumbii Rnd., Sicil. [= Sicily] / 988.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Zeuxia aberrans (Loew, 1847) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 369) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 226) described Zeuxia palumbii from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from F. Minà Palumbo. We found one syntype in this study.
