CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Bithia demotica (Egger 1861) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 339) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 51) described both sexes of Myobia ryctina without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, but from more than one specimen because he wrote: “ Frequens in montuosis , rara in planitie [Common in mountains, rare in plains]”. We found 15 syntypes in this study.
