ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 201 (key), 203 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ a Germania [ Germany]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MZUF: Box 11): Platychira Rnd. / albibarbis Rnd., Germ. [= Germany] / 526 / Nemorea puparum .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Ernestia puparum ( Fabricius, 1794) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 294) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 203) described Platychyra albibarbis from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from C.L.F. von Roser. We found one syntype in this study. Rondani described this nominal species under the generic name Platychyra , which is an “unjustified emendation of Platychira Rondani, 1856 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 147).
