TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis … in Etruria [ Parmese hills … Etruria (= Tuscany) ( Italy)]” .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Dufouria nigrita (Fallén, 1810) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 394) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1862d: 170) described both sexes of Ptilops infans without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material he had collected and also received from F.M. Piccioli. We found ten syntypes in this study.
