CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Linnaemya frater ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 288, Pape et al. 1995: 25, Cerretti 2010: 319), valid species as Linnaemya (Homoeonychia) frater ( O’Hara et al. 2020: 634) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 67) described both sexes of Micropalpus frater without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, but presumably from more than one specimen because he stated: “ non infrequens [not rare]”. We found ten syntypes in this study. Rondani described this nominal species under the generic name “ Micropalpus ”, which is an “incorrect subsequent spelling of Micropalpis Macquart, 1834 ” ( Evenhuis et al. 2016: 85).
