Macropes harringtonae Slater, Ashlock & Wilcox, 1969 , 11, 688; Zheng & Zou, 1981a, 76; Liu & Zheng, 1992, 270– 271; Dong et al., 1997, 239; Hua, 2000, 190; Bu et al., 2002, 232.

Macropes sinicus Zheng & Zou, 1982 , 25, 68; Zheng & Zou, 1981a, 76–77; Liu & Zheng, 1992, 270; Shen, 1993, 35; Liu, 1998, 91; Hua, 2000, 190.

This species is widely distributed in China. Slater & O’Donnell (1995) listed M. sinicus Zheng & Zou as a valid species, but mentioned that it was a junior synonymy of M. harringtonae Slater, Ashlock & Wilcox based on Leyi Zheng’s manuscript. Although Leyi Zheng’s manuscript has not been published yet, Péricart (2001) listed M. sinicus as a junior synonymy of M. harringtonae according to the publication of Zheng’s treatment under the item of M. sinicus in Slater & O’Donnell (1995) . We accepted this treatment.

More specimens of the species were found from Chongqing and Hubei provinces, China.
