DISTRIBUTION: S. Europe; Caucasus; Turkmenistan; W. Asia Minor; Afghanistan; Iraq; Yemen; Israel; Nile Delta; Tunisia to Morocco; Ethiopia; N. Nigeria; Guinea; Madagascar; Comoro Isis.; India; Sri Lanka; Burma; Thailand; Yunnan ( China)(SW); Malaya; Borneo. The West African records are doubtful (K. F. Koopman).
COMMENT: Includes coquerelii and madagascariensis ; see Heim de Balsac and Meester, 1977, Part 1: 6. Includes hosei and malayanus; see Medway, 1977:17. Gureev, 1979:383, listed coquerelii and madagascariensis as distinct species without comment.
