Graphis furcata Fée (1825: 40) .
Type:— AMERICA MERIDIONALIS [South America]. Ad corticem Bonplandiae trifoliatae (G, holotype, scan seen) .
Thallus corticolous, whitish to whitish gray or off-white, continuous, smooth or slightly wrinkled, dull. Lirellae erumpent or slightly prominent, with lateral thalline margin, long, slender, sinuous or curved, sparsely to irregularly branched, labia convergent, entire, black, often thinly whitish pruinose, disc concealed, ( caesiella -morph). Exciple laterally carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 6–8/ascus, hyaline, halonate, transversely 6–10-septate, 20–39 × 7–10 μm.
Chemistry: no lichen substances by TLC.
Distribution and habitat:—pantropical, corticolous and foliicolous ( Lücking et al. 2009). From northern Thailand, it was reported from Loei province ( Poengsungnoen et al. 2010). Buaruang et al. (2017) also erroneously cited the specimen Rivas Plata 1172Q, mentioned in Pitakpong et al. (2015), but that sample originates from the Philippines (Rivas Plata et al. 2011). Here, we add two localities from southern Thailand.
Remarks:— Graphis furcata belongs to a difficult group with erumpent, sparsely branched lirellae with entire labia, a concealed disc, a laterally carbonized exciple, a clear hymenium, small, transversely septate ascospores and without secondary lichen products.
