* Graphis leptogramma Nylander (1868: 111) .

Type :— NEW CALEDONIA. Lifu: ad cortices arborum, 1864, Deplanche s.n. (H-Nyl. 7751!, holotype) .

Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 .

Thallus corticolous, grey-green to light olive-green, continuous, smooth to uneven, glossy. Lirellae immersed to erumpent with gently sloping thalline margin, very long and slender, curved or sinuous, sparsely to irregularly branched, labia convergent, later slightly divergent, entire, black, not pruinose, disc first closed, not visible from above, later open, beige, not pruinose (leptogramma- morph). Exciple laterally carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 8/ascus, hyaline, transversely 6–15-septate, 30–65 × 7–12 μm; 12–14-septate, 45–65 × 7–9 μm (protologue).

Chemistry: stictic acid (major), α- acetylconstictic acid (major), constictic acid (submajor), neotricone (submajor), peristictic acid (minor), hypostictic acid (minor).

Distribution and habitat:— Graphis leptogramma was described from New Caledonia and only one additional report from Papua New Guinea ( Aptroot & Sparrius 2008 –present) came to our knowledge since then. Our collections represent a new addition to the Thai lichen biota.

Remarks:—Our collections are absolutely identical with the holotype but the ascospore dimensions are much more variable than indicated in the protologue. Leptogramma -morph lirellae are immersed to erumpent, very long and slender, curved and sinuous, sparsely to irregularly branched, labia entire, slightly divergent with age and an open, not pruinose disc.

Material from Thailand examined:— Chiang Mai: Mae On district, tambon Huai Kaeo, surroundings of Mae Kampong Waterfall , in a tropical rainforest on bark of an unidentified tree, 1115 m, 18°51’33’’ N, 99°21’22’’ E, 13 December 2016, J. & K. Kalb s.n. (hb. K. & J. Kalb 41789, 41792) GoogleMaps .
