Graphis arbusculiformis (Vain.) Lücking View in CoL , in: Lücking et al. (2012: 391).
Type:— THAILAND. Trat province: Kho Chang island, ad corticem Arecae catechu, Schmidt 10 (TUR-Vainio 27563!— holotypus) ≡ Graphis subdisserpens f. arbusculaeformis Vainio (1909: 132) .
Thallus corticolous, whitish to gray, dull. Lirellae erumpent, with a lateral thalline margin, very long, up to 12 mm long, flexuose, radiately branched, labia convergent, entire (centrifuga -morph). Exciple completely carbonized; hymenium inspersed (type A); ascospores 8/ascus, hyaline, 11–15-septate, 40–50 × 5–7 μm (type), 17–20-septate, 60–68 × 10–12 μm (protologue), 7–11-septate, 25–45 μm long ( Lücking et al. 2009).
Chemistry: stictic acid (major), cryptostictic acid (minor), constictic acid (minor), peristictic acid (minor) (anal. K. Kalb).
Distribution and habitat:—palaeotropics, reported from China ( Aptroot & Sparrius 2008 –present) and Thailand (type locality). It was not present in our collections.
Remarks:—The spore dimensions and septation given by Lücking et al. (2009) differ considerably from those in the protologue but are close to the measurements recently found in the type. The reported chemistry seemed ambiguous, because Lücking et al. (2009) stated: “No substances”, whereas in the protologue, Vainio wrote “Thallus KHO demum bene rubescens.” A restudy of the type revealed stictic acid (major), cryptostictic acid (minor), constictic acid (minor), peristictic acid (minor).
