Similar to Graphis sitiana Vain. Allographa sitiana (Vain.) Lücking & Kalb , but differs in immersed to erumpent lirellae (prominent in A. sitiana ) and longer and more septate ascospores (15–30 × 7–10 μm and 3–7-septate in A. sitiana ).

Type:— THAILAND. Chiang Rai province: Mae Fa Luang district, tambon Mae Fa Luang , way from Doi Messalong to Doi Tung , on bark of an unidentified tree in a secondary forest, 610 m, 20°14’11’’ N, 99°46’26’’ E, 5 December 2016, J. & K. Kalb 41775 ( RAMK, holotype) GoogleMaps .

Etymology:—The specific epithet refers to the similarity with Allographa sitiana .

Thallus corticolous, lead-gray to whitish gray or olive-gray, up to 8 cm diam., 100–140 μm thick, continuous, corticate, prothallus indistinct, surface smooth to uneven due to clusters of crystals, mostly glossy. Thallus in section with distinct upper cortex, up to 30 μm high, with irregular algal layer up to 50 μm high, medulla filled with clusters of crystals, located mainly below the ascomata. Lirellae up to 3 mm long, ca. 0.3 mm wide and ca. 0.15 mm high, immersed to erumpent with thick lateral thalline margin, straight, curved or sinuous, sparsely irregularly branched, labia convergent, entire, black, with a thick white pruina along the slit, disc concealed, not visble from above, (caesiella- morph). Exciple completely carbonized, 25–40 μm wide; hypothecium 10–15 μm high, ± hyaline; hymenium 90–110 μm high, clear, epihymenium light brown to indistinct. Paraphyses unbranched; asci elongate claviform, ca. 80–100 × 20–25 μm. Ascospores 4/ascus, hyaline, transversely 7–12-septate, 25–40 × 8–10 μm, I+ blue.

Chemistry: no lichen substances by TLC.

Distribution and habitat:—The new species is so far known only from northern Thailand where it was collected on bark of deciduous trees in open situations between 430 and 610 m elevation.

Remarks:— Allographa sitianoides is well distinguished in having caesiella -morph lirellae, a completely carbonized exciple, a clear hymenium and lacking secondary lichen products. G. pinicola is also similar in its overall habitus, but this species has a laterally carbonized exciple.

Material from Thailand examined:— Chiang Rai province: Chiang Saen district, tambon Mae Ngen, trail from the main street to Wang Than Tong Waterfall , on roadside trees, 430 m, 20°18’22’’ N, 100°16’14’’ E, 9 December 2016, J. & K. Kalb s.n. (hb. K. & J. Kalb 41818) GoogleMaps .
