Distribution in Iran. Alborz ( Lindberg 1938), Ardabil ( Modarres Awal 1987), East Azarbaijan ( Modarres Awal 1997a, b; Hassanzadeh et al. 2009a; Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010a, b, 2011), Fars, Golestan ( Hoberlandt 1997), Guilan, Zanjan ( Linnavuori 2008), Hamadan, Kerman, Sistan & Baluchestan ( Brown 1966), Isfahan ( Hoberlandt 1959), Khorasan ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b, 2008; Linnavuori 2008), Mazandaran, Semnan ( Wagner 1968), Iran (no locality cited) ( Göllner-Scheiding 2006b).
General distribution. Euro Mediterranean (extending to Ukraine), Egypt, Near East, Caucasus and Central Asia.
Host plants. On cereals ( Modarres Awal 1997b), Centaurea sp. ( Asteraceae ) ( Linnavuori 2008), and wild Poaceae ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b).
