Alborz ( Gapon 2008), Ardabil, Kermanshah, Kordestan, Kuhgiloyeh & Boyerahmad, Sistan & Baluchestan ( Hoberlandt 1997 as inaequale ), Fars ( Hoberlandt 1955, as inaequale, 1997 ; Wagner 1968 as inaequale ; Linnavuori 2012), Guilan ( Linnavuori 2008), Kerman ( Wagner 1968 as inaequale ; Hoberlandt 1997 as inaequale ), Khorasan, Tehran ( Hoberlandt 1959 as inaequale, 1997 ; Linnavuori 2008), Mazandaran ( Hoberlandt 1997), Qazvin ( Gapon 2008), Iran (no locality cited) ( Rider 2006 as both names).

General distribution. Pontian: Syria, Jordan, Central Asia from Asian Turkey to China; according to Rider (2006) extending to European parts of Russia and Kazakhstan

Host plants. On Astragalus sp. ( Fabaceae ) ( Wagner 1968 as inaequale ), Platanus sp. ( Platanaceae ), Populus sp. , Salix sp. (both Salicaceae ) ( Linnavuori 2008), in a mountain steppe on a shore of a salt lake with rich vegetation of Cyperus sp. ( Cyperaceae ), Juncus sp. ( Juncaceae ), Phragmites sp. ( Poaceae ) (Linnavuori 2012).
