Redescription. Length 3.30–4.15 mm ( Fig. 1–4 View FIGURES 1–18 ). Integument blackish except for reddish apical half of rostrum, antennae and legs; on dorsum completely covered with dense, moderately long, uniformly subelliptical scales, irregularly arranged and forming white vittae on pronotum and elytra. Rostrum ( Fig. 125–128 View FIGURES 125–148 ) in lateral view distinctly tapered from antennal insertion to apex, male rostrum moderately long (Rl/Rw 3.21–3.67; Rl/Pl 0.90– 0.92), female rostrum slightly longer (Rl/Rw 3.60–4.29; Rl/Pl 0.82–1.00). Antennal funicle 7-segmented. Eyes globose, distinctly convex. Pronotum more or less transverse (Pw/Pl 1.25–1.32 in male, Pw/Pl 1.27–1.38 in female) but always distinctly constricted at apex. Elytra short (El/Ew 1.34–1.50, Ew/Pw 1.31–1.39 in male; El/Ew 1.35– 1.38, Ew/Pw 1.30–1.35 in female), globose, convex. Femora ( Fig. 243–244 View FIGURES 243–274 ) with tooth, being distinctly robust and sharp on metafemora. Profemora in male with fringe of seta-like scales. Protibiae ( Fig. 307 View FIGURES 307–339 ) slightly prominent in basal half of inner margin. Third tarsomere distinctly wider than second tarsomere. Claws with robust medial teeth, as long as half of claw. Male genitalia: body of penis ( Fig. 364 View FIGURES 364–371 ) slightly enlarged towards apex, which is very broad with a small acute tip ( Fig. 397 View FIGURES 397–431 ), apodeme slightly longer than body of penis. Female genitalia: spermatheca ( Fig. 432 View FIGURES 432–457 ) with short ramus and short collum, narrow nodulus, curved long cornu parallel-sided and ending with a blunted apex; spiculum ventrale ( Fig. 458 View FIGURES 458–484 ) with arms joined in basal half then slightly divergent to apex.

Remarks and comparative notes. This species is somewhat variable in the pattern of the elytral vestiture and the width of the pronotum. Several taxa from central Asia and Japan, currently considered synonyms of T. albolineatus , were described due to this variability. This species can be confused with T. quinquepunctatus (Linnaeus, 1758) although the latter is uncommon in the Far East and Japan and is not yet known from China.

Biology. We have studied some specimens collected on Caragana sinica (Buc’hoz) Rehder. and on Labiatae sp., the latter considered an incidental plant association.

Distribution. Russia (Siberia), Mongolia, Korea, Japan. Know in Northeast and North China (HEB NO), new for some provinces of North China (BEI JIL LIA SHX).
