Description – Measurements (in mm, n = 10): EW = 0.44 (0.42–0.46); TW = 0.46 (0.43– 0.48); PW = 0.49 (0.46–0.515); SW = 0.51 (0.47–0.54); AW = 0.63 (0.60–0.66); HL = 0.30 (0.27– 0.32); EL = 0.10 (0.09–0.11); TL = 0.11 (0.10–0.12); PL = 0.33 (0.30–0.34); SL = 0.46 (0.42–0.48); SC = 0.42 (0.38–0.44); FB = 1.14 (1.04–1.21); BL = 2.02 (1.78–2.30). Habitus as in Fig. 93 View Figs 91–93 . Wholebodymediumbrownbutheadsomewhatdarker, epistomalsuturedarkbrown, mandiblesinfuscate. Elytrasometimesashadedarkerthanpronotum, darkerbasalridges oftergitesnotasconsicuousasinotherspecies. Basalantennomeressometimeslighter thanrestofantennalarticles. Head transversewithrounded, bulgingtemplesjustslightly widerthaneyes. Clypeuswithveryscattered, minutepuncturesonly, withathinanterior rimalsoonsides, onlyfeebletracesofmicrosculptureandunevennesslaterallyonsurface. Epistomalsuturebetweentipsofsupraantennalprominencesoronlyalittlebehindimaginarylineconnectingthem. Medialportionofoccipitalgroovebendinganteriorly, neck mediallyshiny, laterallywithtracesofcoriaceousmicrosculpturewithisodiametriccells. Vertexwithveryscattered, indefinite-borderedandvariouslysizedpunctures; punctation neartemplesmuchdenserandobscurespostocularridge. Faintlongitudinalimpressions runningonbothsidesofvertexfromepistomalsuturetooccipitalgroove, becomingmore markedposteriorly. Headsurfaceotherwiseshiny, withoutmicrosculpture. Pronotum withcomplete, thinmarginalbead. Surfaceshiny, withoutanymicrosculpturebutmore stronglypuncturedthanhead, indefinite-bordered, ratherlargepitsequallydistributed onsurfaceexceptslightlyimpressedmidlineandtwothinstripesalongitplusnarrowly alongposteriormargin. Longitudinalmidlineunmarkedincolour. Onbothsidesofmidlinecentreofdiscstronglyimpressed. Elytra withdiscalmostflat, withtwothinlongitudinalimpressionsextendingalongsuturebehindscutellum, anteriorhalfofdiscverygently impressedinmiddle. Epipleuralridgepresentonalmostentirelength. Thinmarginalbead withobscureconnectiontoepipleuralridgecontinuingalongposteriormargin, notreachingsuturalcorner, slightlycurvinganteriorlybeforeit. Alongsutureveryfinemarginal beadonlyconspicuousbecauseofdarkercolour. Elytralpunctationmostlyrathershallow, obscuredbyunevensurface, moreorlessequallyspaced, moderatelysparse, missingona thin, slightlyelevatedstripealongsuture. Abdomen shinyandsmoothwithonlytinyinser- tionpointsofsetaeandextremelyfaintcoriaceousmicrosculpturewithisodiametriccells. Distribution – ThespeciesisknownfromtheMoluccas ( Indonesia) andNewGuinea. SincethelatterrecordisveryclosetothearbitrarilydrawnborderofIrianJaya, whichisalso thechosenborderofzoogeographicalregions, itisnotconsideredtobeanAustralianspecies. Figs 58–62. Ifoundhertobetheonlywatch- ableattractiononFrenchandGermanlanguagetelevision (some 30 channels) duringthe twoweeksIspentattheMuséumd’histoirenaturelleinGeneva. Thisnewspecieswasfound onthesameday (10 October 2012) whenIsawthebroadcastofhersecondmatchinLinz.
