Description – Measurements (in mm, n = 8): EW = 0.51 (0.49–0.53); TW = 0.54 (0.51– 0.55); PW = 0.55 (0.52–0.58); SW = 0.58 (0.55–0.59); AW = 0.73 (0.70–0.75); HL = 0.35 (0.33– 0.37); EL = 0.11 (0.10–0.11); TL = 0.125 (0.12–0.13); PL = 0.38 (0.36–0.40); SL = 0.51 (0.50– 0.53); SC = 0.48 (0.47–0.50); FB = 1.31 (1.23–1.38); BL = 2.48 (2.33–2.65). Habitus as in Fig. 92 View Figs 91–93 . Forebodyreddishdarkbrown, abdomendarkbrownbutslightlytranslucent. Legs, mouthpartsandbasalantennomeresmediumbrown, antennalarticles 3–10 darkbrown, butterminalantennomeresomewhatlighter, mandiblesmorereddishwithapexinfuscate. Head transversewithrounded, bulgingtemplesjustslightlywiderthaneyes. Clypeusvir- tuallyunpuncturedandunsculptured, shiny. Epistomalsutureposteriortoimaginaryline connectingsupraantennalprominences. Medialportionofoccipitalgroovebendingposte- riorly (notanteriorly), neckcoveredbycoriaceousmicrosculpturewithisodiametriccells. Vertexwithveryscattered, indefiniteborderedandvariouslysizedpunctures; punctation neartemplesmuchdenserandobscurespostocularridge. Faintlongitudinalimpressions runningonbothsidesofvertexfromepistomalsuturetooccipitalgroove, becomingmore markedposteriorly. Headsurfaceotherwiseshiny, withoutmicrosculpture. Pronotum with complete, thinmarginalbead. Surfaceshiny, withoutanymicrosculpturebutmorestrong- lypuncturedthanhead, indefinite-bordered, mostlyratherlargepits (slightlyumbilicate) almosteverywhereonsurfaceexceptalongmidlineandnarrowlyalongposteriormargin. Longitudinalmidlinemarkedinposterior 1/3. Onbothsidesofmidlinemiddle-posterior 3/5 ofdiscstronglyimpressed. Elytra withdiscgentlyconvex, twoverythinandshallow longitudinalimpressionsalongsuturebehindscutellum, anteriorhalfofdisclongitudinallyimpressedinmiddle. Epipleuralridgepresentonalmostentirelength. Thinmarginal beadwithobscureconnectiontoepipleuralridgecontinuingalongposteriormargin, not reachingsuturalcorner, slightlycurvinganteriorlybeforeit. Alongsutureveryfinemar- ginalbeadonlyconspicuousbecauseofdarkercolour. Elytralpunctationveryshallow, moreorlessequallyspaced, moderatelysparse, missingonathin, slightlyelevatedstripe alongsuture. Abdomen shinyandsmoothwithonlytinyinsertionpointsofsetaeandex- tremelyfaintcoriaceousmicrosculpturewithisodiametriccells. MalesterniteVIIIasinFig. 25, aedeagusasinFigs 23–24, femalesterniteVIIIasinFig. 26, spermathecaasinFig. 27.
Distribution – ThespeciesisonlyknownfromonelocalityinMadagascarandis probablyendemictotheisland.
Etymology – ThenameofthespeciesreferstoitsbeingfromMadagascar, thepeople andthelanguagebothcalledMalgasy.
Remarks – Allthespecimensareinsomewhatdecayedcondition, some legsandantennaearemissing. NoothermaterialfromMadagascarwas found. Thespeciesstandsoutforthemedianlobebeingporousonapicalhalf oppositebasalorifice.
