Original material: Clayton 657, pl. 2 (BM); [icon] in Mattioli, Pl. Epit.: 770, f. A. 1586.

Current name: Equisetum hyemale L. ( Equisetaceae ).

Note: Hauke (in Amer. Fern J. 52: 59. 1962) designated 1241.7 (LINN) as a neotype but, with the existence of original material, this is contrary to Art. 9.11.
