It is known to attack a number of commercially grown fruit crops (:KLWH & (OVRQ‒+DUULV Î994). 3ULRU WR WKLV VWXG\, LW ZDV RQO\ NQRZQ IURP 0DGDJDVFDU (DOWKRXJK D IHZ VSHFLPHQV ZHUH UHSRUWHG IURP 0DXULWLXV LQ WKH ¿UVW KDOI RI WKH SUHYLRXV FHQWXU\; VHH:KLWH et al. (2000)). It remains uncertain if its presence on the Comoro archipelago is the result of a recent introduction, or if it remained hitherto unobserved. Males are attracted to trimed-lure.
