Sinella longisensilla sp. nov.

Types. Holotype: female on slide, China: Guangdong: Huizhou: Longmen: Qiankunshan Natural Reserve, 23.viii. 2010, Z.-X. Pan and Y.-T. Ma leg. (sample No. S 4147). Paratypes: 5 females on slide and 4 in alcohol, same data as holotype.

Description. Body length up to 1.12 mm. Body yellow white ( Fig. 1).

Antenna 1.8 –2.0 times as long as cephalic diagonal. Antennal segments ratio as I: II: III: IV = 1: 1.67–1.83: 1.50–1.58: 2.86–3.08. Long smooth straight chaetae 5 on Ant.I, 5 on Ant.II and 2 on Ant.III. Two internal S of Ant.III organ strongly expanded ( Fig. 6).

Omma 3 + 3; anterior two and posterior one separate. Papilla E with 3 guard chaetae; lateral process of labial palp thick as normal chaetae. Labial chaetae smooth; chaetae R and X as smooth, tiny mic; chaeta X 2 smooth; chaeta X 4 ciliate. Cephalic groove with 6 chaetae; anterior three smooth; the fourth one ciliate or smooth; the fifth one smaller than others ( Fig. 8). Dorsal cephalic chaetotaxy with 4 median (M) mac. Clypeal chaetae 8, 3 of them ciliate ( Fig. 9).

Trochanteral organ with 11–13 smooth spiny chaetae; 8–9 in arms and 3–5 between them ( Fig. 10). Inner differentiated tibiotarsal chaetae ciliate with ciliations not closely appressed to axis. Most distal whorl with 11 ciliate chaetae. Unguiculus outer edge smooth. Tenent hairs pointed, subequal to unguiculus in length ( Fig. 11). Abd.IV 2.4–2.8 times as Abd.III in length along dorsal midline. Ventral tube anteriorly with 6 + 6 ciliate chaetae ( Fig. 12); posteriorly with 8 smooth chaetae, distal four much longer ( Fig. 13); each lateral flap with 6 smooth chaetae ( Fig. 14). Manubrium without smooth straight chaetae, most distal part with 4 + 4 anterior and 3 + 3 posterior ciliate chaetae in a row. Manubrial plaque with 2 pseudopores and 3 ciliate chaetae. Distal smooth part of dens 2.0 times of mucro in length. Mucro bidentate with two teeth subequal; basal spine short with tip reaching the subapical tooth ( Fig. 15).

Th.II with 3 medio-medial (m 1, m 2, m 2 i), 3 medio-lateral (m 4, m 4 i, m 4 p) and 17–20 posterior mac; mac p 2 ep 2 rarely present. Th.III with 26 mac; m 5 i and a 6 i as mac ( Fig. 16). Abd.I with 4 (m 2–4, m 4 p) mac; ms anteroexternal to s-chaeta. Abd.II with 3 (m 3, m 3 e, a 2) central and 1 (m 5) lateral mac. Abd.III with 1 (m 3) central, 2 (pm 6, p 6) lateral mac, 1 ms and 2 s-chaetae ( Fig. 17). Abd.IV with 3 central (M, A 6, B 5), 5 lateral mac (F 1, E 2–4, E 2 p) and at least 14 s-chaetae; most s-chaetae much longer than those on anterior terga ( Fig. 18). Abd.V with 3 schaetae ( Fig. 19).

Ecology. In leaves of bamboo, very humid.

Etymology. Named after the Latin words of long s-chaetae on terga.

Remarks. This new species is closest to S. colorata Zhang, Qu & Deharveng, 2010 in 3 + 3 omma, claw structure, thin lateral process of labial palp, chaetotaxy of Th.II and Abd.II–III, 3 + 3 central mac on Abd.IV, and mucro. It differs from the latter in pigment absent on body, 3 sublobal hairs on maxillary lobe, tiny mic R and X on the ventral side of head, mac a 6 i and p 5 on Th.III, 4 + 4 mac on Abd.I, 5 + 5 lateral mac on Abd.IV, and ventral tube. The tergal s-chaetae of the two species are also distinctly longer than those in other Sinella species.
