Type material. Described from holotype. Type locality. “ Tonkin: Hoa–Binh ”. Type specimens. Holotype ♂ ( MNHN): “ Tonkin Hoa– Binh leg. A de cooman [sic!] [p] [orange label] \ Agrilus richardae n. sp. Holotype ♂ nob. A. Descarpentries et [h] A. Villiers det. 19 [p] 62 [h]”.

Distribution. Vietnam (Hoa Binh).

Remarks. Agrilus richardae is known only from the holotype ( Fig. 4E View FIGURE 4 ). It belongs to species with metatibiae armed with cluster of long setae ( Tab. 1). The species is similar to much larger A. atratulus by general habitus and by shape of pronotum which is widest at posterior margin.
