Lectotype (Panigrahi in Taxon 34: 714. 1985): [icon] "Faba marina" in Rumphius, Herb. Amboin. 5: 5, t. 4. 1747.

Current name: Entada phaseoloides (L.) Merr. ( Fabaceae : Mimosoideae ).

Note: The Rumphius plate cited as a synonym of this name is also the lectotype of Lens phaseoloides L. (1754) , and M. scandens is therefore illegitimate (Art. 52.2); see Smith (Fl. Vitiensis Nova 3: 59. 1985) and Panigrahi (in Taxon 34: 714. 1985) on this question.
